Known Issues & Watch Points

Bore scoring (early 2.0T and 2.5T)

Important

Early 718 models with the 2.0 and 2.5 flat-four engines were affected by bore scoring, inherited from the 9A engine family. Cars from 2020 onwards (and the GTS 4.0 with the 4.0 flat-six) are not affected. For 2016–2019 cars: pre-purchase bore scope inspection is advised.

Exhaust sound complaints

Watch

The flat-four engine note divided opinion and many owners have fitted aftermarket exhausts. No reliability concern, but verify any aftermarket exhaust is properly fitted and has not voided any warranty.

Intervals are general guidance. Always refer to your car's Maintenance Booklet and consult a qualified Porsche specialist. Known issues are documented based on commonly reported patterns — not every car will be affected.
